Today I read historical article about Chinese demographic cycles and found one thing. Each cycle, like Ming dynasty 1368–1644 AD shows two types of economics:
- First century labour-deficit economy, when country reconstruct itself after collapse. Reduced population (60 million in 1370s), shortage of labor force, desolated dams and deserted fields. Militaristic tyranny, patriarchal families, agricultural equity and socialistic laws. 2/3 government lands, Gini coefficient <0.3
- Second century labor-proficite economy, when country overpopulated (250 million in 1590s). Constant famines in countryside, tiny family plots, tenancy and aristocracy. Migrants, cheap labor force, growing cities, golden age of architecture, craftsmanship and high arts. Typical capitalism. 1/8 government lands, Gini coefficient >0.5
Socialism --> reconstruction --> capitalism --> collapse --> socialism --> reconstruction.
Again and again, each dynasty, every single time. Perfectly visible pattern. Not only for China, but for Europe too, and even for USA. I'm talking not about socialism as image, but about signs of this type of economic system.
19th century America is country of agricultural equity. Not because of society, but by reason of shortage of labour force (3000 man-hours per year for average worker compared to 2000 hours in Europe), grand surplus of agricultural lands (0.7 man per hectare compared 1.5-2 man/ha in Europe) and energy profusion (150 GJ/capita in USA compared to 135 GJ/capita in Britain, 85 GJ/capita in Germany and 55 GJ/capita in France).
I check trade statistics for 19th century and after some calculations found, that in economy US behaved like socialistic country. Financial turnover for Britain in 1800-1900 period shows ×2.9 maritime trade growth per capita, for Germany ×9.6, for France ×10.3, overall world market ×6.7, but only ×1.8 for USA. But actually during this period European population grown up ×1.4 times (Britain ×4, overall world ×2) but USA ×14 times. Only because of this USA took +5.6% part of world market.
So, 19th century USA is closed socialistic country, which used most of resources not for maritime trade but to develop population, education and infrastructure. America changed dramatically during 20th century, but no one noticed this.

I dunno. Late 19th century America is stereotypically all about hyper capitalism. I’ve got mine, fuck you. Huge Conglomerates. Slums full of people barely able to get by. The gilded age, ya know? And then things got more socialist, right? Trust Busting, Teapot Dome, The New Deal. By the end of WWII the redistribution/influx of wealth was enough to create a thriving middle class that has been dwindling ever since.

Better to publish the documents then license and zone the construction. Especially for something small, which I understand the current efforts at fusion generators are only a few feet on a side, plus all the paraphernalia to keep them running of course. Still only two large rooms worth, I bet.

>Rear of skull striking first, powerful neck muscles pitch her forwards, horn and head dipping down to spear directly into the left side of a reptiloid Abomination's face, skewing it through entirely.
>While Horizon crumples into the corner saddle first, then desperately tries to regain any sense of balance by throwing rump and shoulders into Lumen wall, Celestia had taken a short hop left and up sideways, hooves landing on wall above the dresser, which had become mostly Anti-crystallized.
>Leaping off, the burning yellow-red blood trailing from her body surges directly towards a host of Lumin shards impaling another Abomination, one that had rebounded in the northwest corner, off floor, and was cartwheeling towards the double doors.
>Drawn towards the energetic Lumin, the Abomination is slung barrel first towards the quickly melting wall, Plasma inciting another shock-flashing detonation.
>Watching on, you realize all of the Abominations had become fully exposed at the second Horizon's complete inability to shake off being stunned was the single most pivotal second so far.
>The Reaper's four hooves strike Lumen wall, shattering into it and causing significant fractures as her neck muscles ripple in savage motions, hurling the stuck Abomination head first towards the now-studded wall.

As well all know the U.S. Healthcare system is a failing institution. Many people are turning to Grey Market Pharmaceuticals and Medical Tourism as solutions to avoid ridiculous healthcare costs. As with any procedure or medicine there are risks and some times the pharmaceuticals work as good or even better than prescription medications. Some foreign medicines and hospitals are better than others, but again same here. Is foreign competition the solution to the American Healthcare System?

I notice we have some new users from the middle east. I'm very curious what healthcare is like there as UAE and Turkey are popular medical tourism destinations.

Having been in the manufacturing industry for many many years, the short version is yes. Longer version is that its much worse under the surface of what you see.
My first boss was a pistol collector. There was one model he had, a 1911, that was nearly perfect except for the trigger being made out of aluminum. After work hours he put in a lot of effort into making a stainless steel trigger for it, for himself. Once he got something he liked, he made a couple hundred extra and just put a post in some sort of gun forum and sold some of them from there. Somehow his insurance found out he was selling gun parts and doubled his insurance premium for no extra coverage because of the triggers he was now occasionally selling from an internet forum.
Mind you, this is just the trigger, none of the mechanisms involved, so its just a couple of pin holes and some serrations curved in a way that feels nice on the finger.
Brownells was blacklisted by UPS for shipping gun parts suddenly without any warning from UPS... while they had $50k of gun parts in the middle of being shipped to customers. Source? here is one

They ended up building their own payment processor backend stuff and completed the papaerwork for being their own bank. Gabpay is the only mostly non-cucked payment processor I know of. Maybe Gabe Newell will build their own too, like what Gab did.
There are many more stories like the ones above. Hopefully the new systems people build will stick around.

The horrors persist, but so do we.
Welcome, newfags and oldfags. This is a thread about a weekly get-together some of us like to do on Fridays.
Account registration is not required.
Starting at around 7:00pm EST (8:00pm Central Time), and continuing until the end of the night.
Cytube is the current site hosting the Watch Parties, and the normal room is https://cytu.be/r/FlappyPterodactyl . This may be subject to change, so double check the announcement post in the thread.
These nights consist of going to a website with a video player and a chatroom and having a good time. The format we're using lately starts with the first hour being a series of pony animations and music. This is followed with a couple episodes of a show, then we switch over to a livestream portion for a brief intermission, followed by a series of classic shorts, followed by a movie, followed by two episodes of another show, followed by MLP episodes, then the room is usually pretty open to whatever.
The mood of the nights is “Good Vibes”, and we tend to like more classic content compared to a lot of what's on offer these days.
Feel free to swing by at some point after people filter in.
